What this training is about
This program provides structured, up-to-date and practice-oriented knowledge on the professional care of chronic wounds. The content is based on current scientific findings, nursing expert standards and proven clinical care pathways from everyday practice.
The course offers you:
- a solid understanding of the anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of the skin
- detailed knowledge about the development of different types of chronic wounds

Effective wound care is always teamwork. Whether physicians, nurses, therapists or family caregivers – everyone involved must share the same level of knowledge and work together for the benefit of the patients.
Structure of the training program:
two parts – one goal
To enable you to learn in a structured and easy-to-follow way, the course is divided into two clearly defined parts.
First part (Modules 1–8):
Fundamentals & clinical basics
You will learn everything you need for professional wound care: skin structure, types of wounds, pain, hygiene, nutrition, exudate management, wound irrigation solutions and much more.
At the end of this first part, you will have the opportunity to take an interim exam.
Those who pass receive an interim certificate that documents their performance and makes their learning progress visible.
Second part (Modules 9–15):
Advanced topics & practical application
Here the focus is even more strongly on practice and clinical confidence: case studies, patient education, expert standards, materials, hygiene, documentation and the professional application of what you have learned.
At the end of the program, you will take the final examination.
After successfully passing, you can download your final certificate – a valuable record of your advanced qualification in wound management.
